Wheathampstead occurs as little village n of St Albans, Hertfordshire, United Kingdom. It today forms a share of the Hitchin and Harpenden constituency.
A people of the ward of Wheathampstead at the period of the 2001 census was 6,058. This includes many nearby hamlets.
On the east side of the village is the Devil's Dyke earthwork, the remains of an ancient settlement of the Catuvellauni tribe, reputedly where Julius Caesar defeated Cassivellaunus in 54 BC.
